ISRO New Satellite Pslv C15
ISRO Space Agency, India, on Monday, July 12th successful launch of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket into orbit remote sensing satellite Cartosat-2B and four other satellites.
ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan said that he was very glad to say that the PSLV C-15 was successful fligt. He added that all satellites have been introduced precisely.
New PSLV, 44 meters, flew from 5 satellites, together weighing 819 kilograms, from the spaceport Sriharikota.
The main cargo, Cartosat-2B weighs 694 kg. Another satellite AlSAT-2A, the Algerian remote sensing satellite weighs 116 kg. It also includes two satellite nano NLS 6,1 AISSAT-one weighing 6.5 kg (built at the University of Toronto, Canada) and 1 kg NLS 6,2 TISAT built by University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland. Fifth another STUDSAT, pico satellite weighing less than 1 kg, built jointly by seven students of engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
The rocket released the first Cartosat-2B 20 minutes after the explosion. It was followed by AlSAT-2A and 3 small satellites.
