Casey Anthony killed her child in June 2008
The defense for Casey Anthony was expected to rest Thursday after calling its final witnesses, though it's still not known if the central Florida mother will take the stand to answer questions about whether she killed her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee .Casey Anthony did not take the witness stand as the defense wrapped up its case Thursday. Judge Belvin Perry asked Anthony if it was her decision not to testify. She said it was and that she has had time to discuss the matter with her attorneys, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.The defense's claim that Caylee drowned in the family pool passes without his testimony without foundation. Prosecutors say Casey Anthony killed her child in June 2008 by covering her mouth with duct tape.
Last Wednesday, the defense used a time when Casey Anthony's father burst into tears when judges talk about his suicide attempt about six weeks after his cousin's body was found. Attorneys contend Caylee did not die at the hands of her mother but accidentally drowned in her grandparents' pool and that George Anthony helped cover it up.
Earlier in the day, the defense called Krystal Holloway, who testified that she had an intimate relationship with Casey's father George, and that he told her Caylee's death was an accident. The defense then called George Anthony, Casey's mother Cindy and her brother Lee back to the stand to question them about how the Anthony family buried their pets.
